St. Joseph City Service Ready to Roll!

ARE YOU READY TO RIDE?

Beginning on Monday, October 18th, 2010 and then every Monday and Thursday following, the Transit Connection will be offering general public dial-a-ride bus service within the city limits of St. Joseph as well as shuttles back and forth into St. Cloud from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The bus will pickup anywhere in the city transporting passengers from curb to curb. The Transit Connection is owned and operated by Tri-County Action Program, Inc. (Tri-CAP). The fare is $1.25 per one way ride to travel within the city limits and $3.00 per one way ride to travel to St. Cloud. Everyone is welcome on the Transit Connection. There are no income guidelines or age restrictions. The bus is fully accessible with a lift for those who use a wheelchair or who have difficulty with steps.

As an introductory offer, all rides will be free from the start date through the end of the October. We welcome passengers to come on board for shopping, banking, medical appointments, card playing or any other reason that they need a ride. Our experienced and friendly bus drivers and office staff look forward to getting to know everyone in St. Joseph. Call 202-7824 for ride reservations or to ask about discounted token rates.

Funding for this service comes from the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Tri-CAP, with additional funding cooperatively provided by the St. Joseph Lions, St. Benedict’s Monastery and the City of St. Joseph.

Planning on this project was lead by the Central Minnesota Council on Aging and included community representatives from the City, St. Benedict’s Monastery, service clubs and other interested parties.
